Right to exist

I feel like I don't belong
Somehow my presence is wrong
For acceptance I crave and I long
My suffering they continue to prolong

They say I don't have a right to exist
I don't understand, is there something I've missed?
They deserve it they say, with venom they hiss
Why does my desire to survive make them so pissed?

Something that strikes me as true
They believe my life has no value
Based on where I was born, I'm worth less than them
They're more important than me, I'm not worth the same
Why are their rights prioritised over mine?
Why am I denied the chance to live and to shine?

What has happened to the world?
When it can sit back and watch this carnage unfold
When mothers uncontrollably weep
As their children are permanently put to sleep
Their legitimate hopes and dreams they callously shatter
'Who cares' they cry, 'Their lives don't matter'

When will this nightmare end?
Who will stand up for us? What help will they send?
As a people we have a legitimate fear
That they're not going to stop until we all disappear

What if tables were turned?
Would they stand back and watch their homes burn?
Please help us before it's too late
You hold in your hands our survival and fate
