When will our people have the same rights?

Why must we queue at checkpoints?
Why must we die of thirst while they water plants?
Why are they allowed to swagger around with guns?
Why are we killed for brandishing stones to retaliate?
Why don’t the rules of war apply to them?
Why are our lives less important than theirs?

Why do they call us terrorists, when they terrorise us?
Why did they tell us to move, but bomb us as we fled?
Why do they attack hospitals, schools and mosques?
Why do the imprison our people without charge or trial?
Why are they ‘hostages’ but we are ‘detainees’?
Why are they 'murdered' but we are 'killed'?

Who will help us?
Who will stand in solidarity with us?
Who will rescue us from this hell on earth?
Who will speak for us, the voiceless?

When will they realise we will not kneel?
When will they accept we will never give up?
When will we have a sovereign state of our own?
When will the world stop supporting apartheid?

When will our children know what peace feels like?
When will we be free?
